Hulk Hogan Watches Too Much South Park.

Or his Lawyer Does.
Did they really just call SHENANIGANS?

Sweet.

Send Him Some Shoes

I went to IUPUI so I felt it was appropriate to share from my old stompin grounds. Check out a great story of making a difference.

Is There a Pinochet Theme Foyer?

Worst hotel room ever.

Yet, I'm oddly intrigued.

(Can I get a PolPot landscaped garden outside too?)

How bizarre is it that they include Thatcher and both of the Bush Presidents? I'm not a fan of the Bush Regime but ummm - I'm not sure they're quite Hitler-esque. I'm fairly sure they are not, to be truthful.

Margaret Thatcher on the other hand...............

(kidding people kidding)

Potato Head Madness

Potato Heads are under construction at our house, on a regular basis.
At Walt Disney World, they have a great toy store where you pay X amount for the potato and all the accessories you can fit into the box.
If you ever go, the secret is, fill the potato up BEFORE you put him in the box, then shove the little bits around him.
Baby Birth of Cool (above)had the Choice of Making Optimus Prime or Darth Vader. He chose to embrace the Dark Side.....
And you know, there is always a master and an apprentice soooo Lil Satchmo had to build his own agent of evil. Baby Birdman, however, embraced lighter fair - leaving the forces of darkness to his brothers.

And then things go really creepy when Daryl Dragon showed up.

Although I Do Not Normally Advocate Such

It would probably be ok in this one instance, to go give Hugs.

Points will be awarded, however, for anyone saying something more original.

And as Susan say, Hurrah!

TOMORROW

Tomorrow.
Susan goes in for a double mastectomy.

I'd take her some flowers, but I don't live close enough.

I could take her a casserole, but it would get cold on the long drive and I don't think it would mail well.

So instead I send her my best wishes, and my love.

We all look forward to your future, and are glad we get to be a part of it.

Snow Ya'll

So we had snow a couple of days ago and it was lovely and then it went BYE BYE very quickly. But we were excited by it nonetheless.

However, weather.com said that we were going to get SNOW this weekend. With accumulation.

It was supposed to happen Saturday morning but when we woke up, there wasn't anything going on. Then as I was sitting here, mindlessly reading blogs I looked outside.......and guess what? Out of no where snow had started not only to fall but STICK! We were fairly excited so we had to don our winter gear and head to the park for the full on Winter experience. Keep in mind, these kids have never worn winter coats in their lives before this year much less hats or gloves.

They were not completely sure what to think about all of this SNOW business. But I think Baby Birth of Cool and I do a nice job of representing Mary and Rhoda - whaddya think? (Thanks for the hats Mom) Since we knew this might be our ONLY chance to see snow any time soon we had to do it all. So there was snowball throwing.

And then a snowman had died an earlier death, so we launched an attack on him.
He got what was coming to him, I promise you. And then because we DO value recycling around here, we scavenged dead snowman parts and made our OWN Snowman. Amazing, really, how when you grow up in the north it never occurs to you how important and exciting this stuff can be. Lil Satchmo was heartbroken the other day when the snow came and went so quickly, and said to me "can we please go touch the snow next time it comes?" and suddenly I was so sad. He hadn't ever TOUCHED snow and I had said NO to going outside because it was nighttime.

I felt like a heel. Because they will only ever be 5 and 3 and 3 once. And Never, Ever, in their entire lives will they exude so much joy about a really silly looking snowman.

Just for good measure here is some running around in the snow video.

It's a Marshmallow World........

The Florida Boys Venture out into the light snow........ Florida Style..........
but then it really starts to come down and they have to retreat inside.
And then when night fell.......it started to look like this.....
My children are seeing snow today for the first time in their lives.

I am delighted.

These Make My Manger with a SIGN in it Look Fairly Normal

Personally I like the overdressed Holy Family Best - thanks to the hubby for the link.

Also forwarded by the hubby, maybe I should forward this over to Kristen for arbitration of the razor incident.

We're supposed to have a Wintry Mix tonight. Sounds like something Martha Stewart should serve. "Tonight we'll have a Wintry Mix served with a warm apple cider, with apples picked from Mount Fuji."

To My Friend Mark

My Friend Mark recently lost his father.
I don't have anything really poignant to say......it all just seems sort of pointless in the face of such sadness really. And there is nothing lamer than virtual *hugs*.

Barbara wrote a lovely post, succinct and to the point.

If it were not for Mark and Babara, their long distance college romance and the early age "internet email" that connected them I wouldn't be here with you today. They were my first exposure to this fancy "email" thing. I think it might've been called "iMail" even.......I can't quite remember. Mark helped me and Mrs Repressed set up our first PC - which I think she bought from him. And rickety 486 that we had to adjust the jumpers on the motherboard to get the modem to work.

I love them both very much and miss them.

And Mark, I am really really sorry about your Dad.

If you have time, stop by Barbara's blog - and say hi. I'm sure they could use a howdy (however anyone caught sending *hugs* will be first against the wall when the revolution comes).

A Warm Day and The Whistle Stop Cafe

While it's not Florida Warm here we've had a warm couple of days, with temps in the 60s during the day. Since we've been housebound in the cold icky weather recently we decided to get our munchkins out into the fresh air and sunshine for the afternoon.

Dauset Trails Nature Center is a really nice park located about an hour south of ATL. They have rescue animals there of various sorts, Hawks, bobcats bears, bison, deer, turkey and the like - plus a farm setting too. And lots of trails to walk and explore - and with no stroller this is fun fun fun, plus there are trees to hug and fun to have, especially when you are 5 and 3 and 3. I love the rescue aspect of it. These animals would be better off in the wild, except that many are injured and can't be rehabilitated. So they are cared for and enjoyed in this setting. It's quite lovely.

After our day letting them run in the fresh air - get ready girls - we went to the WHISTLE STOP CAFE! Yeah, that's right. The REAL Whistle Stop Cafe from FRIED GREEN TOMATOES!
It was so cool, I had the best time.

Of course we had to try to Fried Green Tomatoes, I'm not a fan but the hubby loved them (I'm not a fan in general but it seemed a moral imperative to try them).

And don't forget if you go - SECRET'S IN THE SAUCE!

It was a great family day out. I suppose now we'll have subzero temps for two months.
