I would not go so far as to say that we're in a "When Life Gives You Lemons Make Lemonade" sort of place, but we did get out and about this past weekend.
We went to one of our favorite places, the Fernbank Museum.
Our first stop was a meeting of poison dart frogs. The pic is a litle foggy because of all the humidity in their terrarium. Poison dart frogs are remarkably pretty. You'd be tempted to pick one up to check it out.
And then you would drop dead. Which would suck.
The exhibit was was getting ready to end to the Frog stuff was all on sale, so the kids all got Frog toys with which to beat one another.
We'll look forward to lots of smacks in the face by these I'm sure. Currently I've been enjoying learning what small animal toys fit into the frog mouths, as is enacted by Lil Satchmo at every turn.
One of my favorite views inside the Fernbank is this.......looking up into the ribcage of the Argentinasaurus.
I think that if this thing was ever walking over you, you'd just look up like this and think OH FUCK.
I love the Ferbank with it's Dinosaurs and it's lovely exhibits, it's breathtaking and relaxing to be there. There is a nice play area, where even little boys who like to dance in front of mirrors can find something to do!
After our fun day at the museum we cruised down to the southside of Atlanta to an AWESOME restaurant.......the BARBECUE KITCHEN! It's a meat and three style diner with absolutely rockin' homestyle entrees, all the vegetables you can eat and dessert comes with your dinner if you choose the meat and two.
