***Those of you who enjoy Drama, Please Pull Up A Chair***
I had this friend who was one of my best friends. I loved her dearly. And she fucked me. Metaphorically speaking, that is. Now - you might say that her intentions were good and that's all fine and dandy.
But you know what the road to hell is paved with? That's right boys and girls - GOOD INTENTIONS.
Because of her little stunt, she unleashed a sociopath back into my life when I had him nicely caged and being a good boy. She created havoc and mayhem in my personal life that continues to this day. But here, as I mull things over and think about how angry I am about so many things in my life........what I find most ironic is this.
She and I are not friends - not because of the bullshit she pulled.
But because she would not call me.
You see at that time I worked at a place full of asshats. It was unbelievably restrictive - and I had shared that with people, don't call casually - don't call to hang out and visit and most certainly don't call to discuss DRAMA with me on the phone. Why? Because the senior manager there was alerted EVERY TIME someone got a personal phone call, and if she didn't have time to listen to you live right then - she'd just record it and play it back later for her own personal pleasure. This was a place that let me know it was inappropriate for me to receive a personal phone call - when I got a phone call that my son broke his arm.
So you see, I asked you to call me. You - who out of ALL OF THE DRAMANISTAS INVOLVED were like a best friend to me.
And you refused.
See you were all feminist and empowered and you weren't going to call me AT HOME you were going to do it on YOUR TERMS weren't you? Does that make you feel good? Does that make you feel righteous and sooooo self satisfied? You see other, lesser friends CALLED ME. Some of them and I have lost touch or found points of disagreement and are not really friends anymore.
But everyone else, people who were supposed to love me far less than you - CALLED ME. They talked to me.
Not you baby. Oh no, up on your pedestal of righteousness you sat. Trying to destroy my family.
Guess what? You failed.
Guess what? I hate you. TO THIS DAY, I hate you with the full venom I felt then. It hasn't waned. I wish you ill. If I hear that something bad happened to you - I smile a little bit inside. I'll never do ill to you, I'll never actively seek to harm you. But you know what - if I can cause you sadness by an act of omission or neglect - I WILL.
I hope you read these words and they make you sad.
I stepped away with grace and didn't say anything at the time. My days of being silent about things that upset me are over.
Everybody else, buckle up.

A Welcome To The Blogroll - Fleurde-Licious
I've got a new bloggy friend that I'm welcoming to the blogroll - and it reminds me that a clean up is more than overdue. I think there are some dead links on there.
Regardless - Welcome Fleurde-Licious to the blogroll and check her out.
Her blog is full of good things!

Mommy Bloggers Loose in the ATL

Sarah is in town and we took the opportunity to lift a pint or four. We tried to go to a local joint I like but I guess it's a sign of the times - they didn't renew their beer license. So we walked across the way to Friday's where the food is lame but the beer is cold.

It was an excellent time with one of my bestest friends. And we only trashed some of you, as the beers went to work.
You may worry amongst yourself who you are. We aren't telling.

"Ummm, Can You Come Back Here?"
*Let me start off with a belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUCKA! to Sarah one of my favoritest people in the world.
This post is dedicated to her, in response to her post about not having to wipe people's butts when she didn't work from home. True story, enjoy.
I used to have this job where I was required to be in to work really really early - due to the fact that I was the one who churned out the daily reports for all the hoohas about the previous day's performance. I'd roll in to work some days as early as 6am. My staff were pretty cool, and usually wise enough to have a hot pot of coffee going as they all knew what a surly bitch I am without my caffeine.
On the day in question, I rolled in a little late- 7:15am, threw some coffee in a cup and started importing data. At this time of day, other than a team lead, I was the only "leadership" in the building. Even though I didn't manage "a team" - I was a manager so if there was a problem, it was mine.
Shortly after I started keying my phone rang.
"Ummm, can you come back here? There's a turd on the floor."
To which I responded,"Oh there is not - it's mud off of someone's shoe - it's been raining."
Rep:"No- it's a turd. We need you to come back here."
So I get up and walk through the largely desolate call center, back to the only row where there are people sitting, 7 of them to be exact. And yes, in the middle of the aisle - is a large turd.
"Was this here when you got here?" I ask.
"No."
"Okay, who has been through here this morning?"
"No one, just us."
"Okay, you guys - one of you had to SEE this - they don't magically appear.......seriously who came through?"
"No one, we all came in together, and it wasn't here, and then when we just looked over here, there it was."
Sigh. Yes, they indeed were trying to tell me that a turd had materialized in their aisle.
I grunted and told them not to touch it and marched back to my office to call the facilities mgmt group to come clean it up asap, left a message on their voice mail and then relocated the entire team to another aisle - one that was turdless.
The best part of this story, is that my HR team told me that I should have saved it for the police, WHOM they called. And I had to be interviewed by. Because apparently, unbeknown to me, FECAL GRAFFITI (it was not graffiti it was just a turd but they wouldn't listen) is some GANG thing. I kept saying "It wasn't used for ink. It was just a turd, like someone squatted, dropped it and walked on." But they wanted to know if there was writing on it, or if it was SHAPED like anything.
It was shaped like a turd.

The Blogher 08 Second Life Whizbang Recap

It was a whizbang fun weekend at Blogher08 In Second Life. I got to participate in the "Intersection of Blogging and Second Life Panel" which gave mea fantastic reason to buy new clothes in cartoon land. (Like I need a reason.)

I took a close up of me and Queen at the panel, we look mahvelous.
There may have been a few technical glitches but hey, technology is not perfect anywhere on a good day and we managed to get through it.
There may have been a few technical glitches but hey, technology is not perfect anywhere on a good day and we managed to get through it.
The exhibitor area looked mahvelous also, here I am at the Code Pink exhibit.

Askpatty.com threw us a great party at the end of Day One at Callie Cline's beach resort which was well attended and much enjoyed. Thanks Patty! Crunch Domestic Goddess had a good time even though she wore a box on here head most of the night! (She was a very good sport about it and it was a box with a big picture of ME on it, so I found it to be VERY fashionable.) This is a snap of me and the husband, the REAL husband yes, at the party.

Patty also had hired the coolest looking DJs in the metaverse. Check'em out.

I also got to meet many other great bloggers who were a lot of fun and not against mudwrestling and knife throwing. I met a lot of other great ladies, whose blog urls I cannot find and I'm sorry - this doesn't mean I don't love you!
I realize that you guys all had fun out in San Francisco........but did you get a designer original outfit JUST FOR ATTENDING? I was cracking up at the smokes so you can't see the darn jeans which are now my new favorite SL jeans. Yes I have favorite SL jeans, shut up. Thanks to Callie Cline for designing and donating this to us Bloghers in SL.
Did you get to go TUBING??

And more importantly - did they give you your OWN stock car? NO? Well........pity on you then :)

Seriously it was a great time, thanks to everyone who came and those of you who came and decided to STAY and live the wild pixel life with us - just give me a holler In World if you need anything.

Although I Do Not Normally Advocate Such
It would probably be ok in this one instance, to go give Hugs.
Points will be awarded, however, for anyone saying something more original.
And as Susan say, Hurrah!

TOMORROW
Tomorrow.
Susan goes in for a double mastectomy.
I'd take her some flowers, but I don't live close enough.
I could take her a casserole, but it would get cold on the long drive and I don't think it would mail well.

So instead I send her my best wishes, and my love.
We all look forward to your future, and are glad we get to be a part of it.

These Make My Manger with a SIGN in it Look Fairly Normal
Personally I like the overdressed Holy Family Best - thanks to the hubby for the link.
Also forwarded by the hubby, maybe I should forward this over to Kristen for arbitration of the razor incident.
