Of Kidney Stones and Potty Training

So first things first. I have a kidney stone and a UTI. I am consequently taking a crapload of medicine and drinking a crapload of water in an effort to cause this thing to exit my body. I am not looking forward to it, as it's little bit of movement yesterday sent me to my knees and almost made the people I work with call 911. It was as if someone was pinching me, with a pair of hot pokers, in my back. I am told "oh it's worse than childbirth." Well, no not really - not yet anyway. It's quite a different sort of pain, so I don't think it's comparable. I am enjoying my one caffeinated beverage that I am allowed right now, a BIG old cup of coffee (Turtle Sundae Flavor) and then it's on to clear liquids like mad. I am looking forward to a weekend of painkillers. Yippee!
On another subject, we have begun potty training. Louis is quite disinterested. It seems he JUST tells us too late each time, and still goes in his pants. Lovely. I snapped this shot of him making a fine effort to poop. I had taken the camera but kept it hidden outside the door thinking I would take a cute little pic for the grandmas. I poked my head around the door to turn on the camera and get it ready and heard this rustling sound - this is what I saw when I looked back in........of course I HAD to snap!

Louis is very worldly for a two year old. I wish we could see what section he is reading.
